Ministry Teams
Operation
Mobilization India has more than 1,000 Indian men and women devoted to
serving Christ in their nation. These national workers serve in unique
capacities matching their ministry skills and spiritual calling. There
are three main kinds of teams on which OM India workers are serving:
Good Shepherd Holistic Ministries Teams, Long Term Disciple
Making Teams, and See the Light Field Teams. In addition,
OM India’s workers are involved in disaster relief and rehabilitation,
literature publishing, prayer networks and educating the Dalits of India.
Operation Mobilization India’s has National Workers from nearly
every state of India. Most workers are serving in a cross-cultural capacity,
meaning their working state is different from their home state. The workers
are from a multitude of family backgrounds and parts of society. OM India
also has a good number of women serving as national workers on field teams,
long term teams and holistic ministries teams.
Why Indian National Workers?
There are several key reasons to support National Christian Workers:
Sensitivity of the Situation
India has a highly complex web of castes, sub-castes and religious diversity
which makes the task of sharing the Good News very difficult. National
workers understand this diversity and can be sensitive in a multitude
of difficult situations.
Culturally Acceptable
The National Worker shares a similar worldview and set of core personal
values that are more clearly understood by other Indians. Thus, National
Workers can more quickly and easily develop significant relationships
with people of their own land.
Role Models for Indigenous Church Growth
National Workers become excellent role models for the indigenous churches
to train their own people to share God’s love with their own community.
