1950's
George Verwer becomes a Christian. While in college begins visiting Mexico to preach and distribute Bibles. Establishes what becomes OM. Mostly short term outreaches.

1960's
Ministry expands to Europe, communist Eastern Europe, Middle East, India. Becomes full-time, long-term work.

1970's
Two ships acquired and ship ministry begins. Work continues to expand in Middle East and Asia.

1980's
First ship lost in wreck, but quickly replaced through worldwide support. Work expands in Latin America.

1990's
Communist countries open and work grows in Eastern Europe and expands in Central Asia and former USSR. On-the-job training in two-year program strengthened and standardized.
