Vision Statement

Focusing on the Unreached
The future of OM will be shaped by a sharpened focus upon the peoples of the Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist worlds and those in secular and nominally religious Europe. We will send an increasing number of fully supported, long-term workers into these areas to achieve measurable goals in evangelism and church planting. Where appropriate, OM teams will combine evangelism and compassionate outreach to those in physical need. Short-term outreaches will continue and even increase as an integral part of our long-range strategy.

Partnering with Churches
We will mobilize prayer and missions involvement in the global Body of Christ. Our commitment is to active partnership and networking with churches and other ministries both at home and on the field of service. We recognize that ongoing spiritual renewal will be required in ourselves and in the church as we stand for Biblical faith in a changing world.

Caring for our Members
OM wants to be a welcoming and caring fellowship. Pastoral care, mentoring, and regular appraisal will be provided for every member. Where appropriate, counseling and career planning will also be provided.

Training and Equipping World Christians
We are committed to life-long learning at every level in the organization. An effective training program with a common core curriculum will be provided for all trainees. Specialist training for evangelism, church planting and leadership will also be provided.

Mobilizing the Next Generation
To mobilize a new generation of senders and cross-cultural workers, we will train and commission increasing numbers of gifted individuals who will involve intercessors, enlist recruits and raise funds. At the same time, an important aspect of our strategy is to encourage many OM graduates to join other mission agencies.

Next Generation

Globalizing the Ministry
We will go beyond being just international, striving for a truly multinational and transcultural partnership. This will enable each of our national entities to make a significant contribution to the movement in planning, decision- making, strategizing and implementation. Internationally, any one country or culture will not dominate us. Nationally, we will strive for substantial indigenization in the leadership. Our vision is greater interdependence, multi-racial affirmation and sharing of resources in the accomplishment of our mission.

Strengthening the Organization
The organization wants to empower our leaders to better serve those they lead. We will refine and adapt our organizational structures to increase our ministry effectiveness.
