In order to drive up the Khyber Pass (the road from Peshawar, Pakistan, into Afghanistan) it was required that an armed guard/soldier ride in the car with us. Along the way other soldiers would see the armed and uniformed guard in our vehicle and wave us through. This picture is of our guard and me standing at the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. |
