Faith means hearing God's word, whether written in the Bible or spoken to our spirit, and then radically, tenaciously, and continuously modifying our thoughts and actions to wholeheartedly align with that word. Faith often requires a significant and sweeping paradigm shift that may vehemently fly in the face of every ounce of our logic, reason, and circumstance. But without it we are doomed to either mediocrity or misery.--Chip Kirk
For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did, but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard it did not combine it with faith.--Hebrews 4:2
Why do some persons "find" God in a way that others do not? I venture to say that the one vital quality which the great saints had in common was spiritual receptivity. They differed from the average person in that when they felt the inward longing, they did something about it. They acquired the lifelong habit of spiritual response.--A.W. Tozer
