In a flash I saw it.  I saw that I was in Him, and when He died I died.  I
was carried away with such joy at this great discovery that I jumped from
my chair and cried, "Praise the Lord, I am dead!"  I ran downstairs and
met one of the brothers helping in the kitchen and laid hold of him.  "Brother,"
I said, "do you know that I have died...that I died with Him (Christ)?" Oh,
it was so real to me. I longed to go through the streets of Shanghai shouting
the news of my discovery.--Watchman Nee

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave himself for me.--Paul the Apostle (Galatians 2:20)

My mother died a month ago.  When she died, her liver died because her
liver was in her.  Christ died over two thousand years ago.  When He died,
I died because I was in Him.  My mother's liver lived as it continued to abide
(remain constantly connected & desperately dependent) in my mother.  I live
spiritually as I abide (remain constantly connected & desperately dependent)
in Christ.  My mother's liver has no life apart from her life.  I have no spiritual
life apart from Christ's life (John 15:1-5).  My mother practiced the presence
of her liver, and it lived in and through her.  As I practice the presence of
Christ, He will live in and through me (John 14:10).--Chip Kirk
