PROPOSED DESTINATION:   Not publicly displayed

PROPOSED DATES:  May 8th-June 3rd, '08 (these are approximate)

PARTICIPANTS: 6-10

APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 15, 2008

PURPOSE:

To reach out uniquely in the community, allowing the participant a new platform of experience for using the arts in ministry. The vision is to use the arts in order to build relationships with people and pass on these contacts to long-term workers.

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:

The first days will be spent in orientation in Spain. This time of about 4 days will include:

- teaching on integrating art and faith;
- practical exposure to language, culture and Islam;
- development and preparation of ministry ideas;
- visits to art galleries and art workshops;
- time for solitude.

After the conference,  the team will travel together to country of service and a particular village (location not to be widely disclosed), which will serve as an outpost for the rest of the trip. While there, the team will seek to develop relationships in the village and the surrounding area. The team will work towards preparing an art exposition that will celebrate the village, people and its surrounding areas. To accomplish this, the team must research and learn about the important people and stories of the area.

Through this project there is the hope to shine some Truth into the lives of people encountered, to give them joy and pride in their community and to start many quality relationships that can be continued once the team has departed. Hopefully through these projects, the needs of individuals and the community will be made known, leading our team to concern, prayer and action.
